In this paper, the effects of energy price volatilities on capital and labor demand are surveyed in industrial sector for the period of 1996-2014. Demand functions are estimated using a VAR model. Impulse response functions and variance decomposition have been analyzed. According to the results, positive and negative energy price have assymetric effects on industrial capital and labor demand. Moreover, labor demand is much sensitive to energy price shooks than capital demand. |
