Role of Biogas Systems in the Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Diary Sector

The livestock sector is known as one of the key sectors affecting the environment. while, it can potentially produce energy from environmentally friendly resources. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of biogas systems in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction in dairy firms. This study develops five scenarios, including %1, 5%, 10%, 50% and 100% shares for biogas systems to meet the energy needs of diary sector. The result showed that GHG emissions would decrease by 1.86%, 4.92%, 9.91%, 49.90% and 99.57%, respectively under different scenarios.
