Using thermal comfort information planners and designers can contribute to energy conservation. This paper tries to analyze climate condition, thermal comfort and energy strategies for Iranian selected cities including Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, Shiraz, Yazd and Bandar Abbas. The research methodology is based on the analysis of typical meteorological year data in accordance with ASHRAE 55-2004 standard for residential functions. The results showed that windows shading and internal heat gains are most appropriate passive strategy for Bandar Abbas. In Isfahan and Shiraz, internal heat gains and evaporative cooling are most applicable strategies respectively. In Tehran and Yazd, evaporative cooling and internal heat gain are the most appropriate passive strategies. In Tabriz, internal heat gain has the first place among passive strategies. |
